Where do you put furniture when renovating?

How to Store Your Belongings During a Remodel

If you’re like most people, your home is crammed with furniture, appliances, and other items you can’t live without. But when it comes time to renovate, everything has to go somewhere. Here are five storage ideas to keep your belongings safe and out of the way while you remodel:

1. Fill the garage. We’re sure you’re grateful for that two-car garage more than ever. Move everything into the garage if you have the space and use it as a temporary holding area until the work is completed. Just make sure to leave a clear path so you can still get your car in and out!

2. Choose another room in the house. If you don’t have a garage or if it’s already full, look for another room in your house that can serve as a storage area during the remodel. A spare bedroom or guest room is ideal, but any room will do in a pinch. Just be sure to clear it out completely before the workers arrive.

3. Use the phone-a-friend feature. If you have a friend or family member with some extra space, see if they’ll let you store your belongings at their place until your remodel is done. This is a great option if you don’t have the space or if you want to avoid the hassle of moving everything yourself. Just be sure to return the favor when they need it!

4. Hire a portable container. If you don’t have any other options, you can always hire a company to drop off a storage container for you to fill at your leisure. This is a great option if you have a lot of large items or if you’re planning on being away during the remodel. Just be sure to get an insurance policy that covers your belongings while they’re in transit!

5. Make use of self-storage. If all else fails, self-storage is always an option. This may not be the most convenient option, but it’s usually cheaper than hiring a company to move everything for you. just be sure to find a facility that’s close by so you can easily access your belongings when you need them!

No matter what option you choose, be sure to label everything clearly and take inventory of everything before it goes into storage. That way, you’ll know exactly what where when it comes time to unpack after your remodel is complete!
